What This Lesson Covers:
In this lesson I teach you the Traditional Old Time Fiddle Tune called "The 8th Of January". (Lyrics were later put to the melody, and the song "The Battle Of New Orleans" was produced)
This song is in the Key of D, but in Open G tuning. So it's great if you are looking to learn D Chord Licks in Open G tuning. I've included several Jam Tracks of various speeds, even as slow as 60 BPM. I've also include 2 performance tracks of 2 different tempos, 60 BPM and 90 BPM.

This tune is really fun to play and is often played at jams, maybe under the name "The Battle Of New Orleans".
